Characterizing land–atmosphere exchange with micrometeorological, proximal and spaceborne observations.

This work package focuses on understanding land-atmosphere dynamics of the SPAC through micrometeorological measurements (e.g., eddy covariance), proximal sensing (e.g., TIR sensors) and spaceborne Earth observations (e.g., Sentinel constellation). This includes generating an open dataset to calibrate and evaluate modeling activities in WP1, WP2 and WP4, and also adapting and evaluating surface energy balance models to better represent complex agroecosystems — including integrating physiological control on transpiration and accounting for heat and water transfer due to water intercepted by the canopy.
