Connecting the pieces
Integrating WP1–3 into a single SPAC model that simulates energy, water and carbon fluxes end to end.
- Integrates the WP1–WP3 submodels into a single SPAC model
- Designed for wooded and tree-grass ecosystems
- Online flux simulation from soil to atmosphere, with no I/O interchange between submodels
- Data assimilation of remote, proximal and soil geophysical observations
Aims to integrate all submodels developed in WPs 1 to 3 in order to have a model that simulates the energy, water and carbon fluxes in the Soil-Plant-Atmosphere Continuum. This new SPAC model will be specifically designed for wooded and tree-grass ecosystems. The model will be as seamless as possible — able to simulate the transport of fluxes from the soil to the atmosphere online, without any Input/Output (I/O) file interchange between submodels, ensuring computing efficiency and inversion capability. The second objective of this WP is the retrieval of actual conditions by data assimilation of remote and proximal observations, including soil geophysical information.
